1740 Broadway

1740 Broadway- Denver, CO - Mortenson Construction took on this complete revamp of the existing Wells Fargo Building in downtown Denver.

My portion of work included an exterior slat wall with incorporated lighting and fire suppression. As well as 16 enormous window portal wraps in atrium. One of my most challenging millwork projects. Each measuring an impressive 20 feet in length and 10 feet in height, with the tallest reaching nearly 50 feet off the ground. While they may appear simple at first glance, the complexity of this installation was no small feat.

Status: Closed December 2023

Challenges:

• 50 foot high windows with in-floor grates restricting boom and scissor lift access.

• Every window portal was at a different angle.

• Restriction on noise level during working hours.

• Architect changed lighting at the end of the exterior slat wall completion.

• Finding low-maintenance exterior stain and finish that withold Denver’s extreme temperature range.
